No Thruster
This project brought me back to my roots. I love surfing, I love music and I definitely love design. With these three themes together, I created the styles for “No Thruster”.
No Thruster is an original surf contest and surfing culture festival. This contest is an alternative to mainstream surfing contests – it encourages retro style surfing. while scores and judging do not exist.
Here, it’s all about style and having fun!
In this project, my mission was to design a serie of invitation posters for an Israeli festival. The main challanges were to create an identical patterns, elements and colors for each invitation and yet keep it with few minor differences.
My main insperations were 70’s, 80’s & mid 90’s surf clothes designs, the Memphis movment and my own 90’s surf t-shirts.
For typography I used diverse fonts whom represent different decades in my own perspective.
In order to make this project as real as it can be, I chose to demonstrate my art on several objects such as tournament flags, beach towels and giveaway t-shirts.
